Our History

" The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom "

Chirsthu Jyothi Higher Secondary School had its birth in the great turmeric City Erode as the First Matriculation School in the area ! It had its humble birth at Thirunagar Colony, Erode with a set of 16 students. In the year 1976 the school has come to stay at Brahmana Periya Agraharam, Erode. By 1994 it has grown from 'Kinder garden' to a 'Higher Secondary School'. At present the strength is inflated to 3200 wards, 129 staff to toil for them and qualitative too! We reap commendable results every year! State Ranks and District Ranks are also attained.

This great institution is run by the nuns of Franciscan Clarist Congregation (F.C.C) a Kerala foundation with the motto 'serve in love'. Universal brotherhood and joyful service to humanity has a special place in our system of education. Every effort is made to create in students the qualities of justice, peace and religious tolerance and a special concern for the poor and oppressed. They are to be spiritually sound, morally upright, professionally skilled and psychologically whole as the saying goes plants are fashioned by cultivation but men by education!

The school owes much to Rev.Mother Godfrey, the pillar of this temple of education who entered to eternity on 10.02.2011. The school has sponsored 'Assissi Bhavan' a home for the physically challenged children in the campus. The inmates are helped to board and lodge and to get education to a higher level.
